The objectives of the Policy Dialogue are:

  • to share the research findings conducted by the DVAW Research Team and KANITA. This research is the first national prevalence study which provides baseline data on DVAW in Malaysia using the WHO Multi-Country questionnaire. This research was funded by the University Research Grant while the Policy Dialogue is funded by UNFPA
  • to provide a platform for relevant stakeholders to discuss possible policy changes needed to address DVAW related issues using evidence based information. This study provides the first national base line data on DVAW that will be important for policy decision-making in Malaysia
  • to discuss the importance of a systematic and effective utilisation of these national data and the need to ensure national dissemination and data utilisation as widely as possible
  • to advocate for an integrated policy on DVAW
